Supporting and growing the practice of human rights and movement lawyering
Supporting and growing the practice of human rights and movement lawyering Bertha Foundation supports 114 two-year fellowship positions for emerging lawyers to work with 17 human rights law firms spanning 16 countries. In line with our efforts to facilitate the next generation of movement lawyers, we aim to support more than 1,000 emerging lawyers through our fellowship program.
The law has long been a crucial element in the struggle for social justice. Movement lawyers have shown us how the law can be used as a tool for change. Through the Bertha Justice - "Be Just" - Initiative, we support organizations that practice public interest law and promote movement lawyering. By facilitating a global network of public interest lawyers and training emerging lawyers in this field, we work to inspire the growth of human rights and movement lawyering.
